Many were of them were left abandoned. Each home they end up in has a “Mother” to tend to eight children, who sees to their education and needs and…Read More

Christmas Presence

By Jodie Linton-Prickett | Spiritual

I must admit, a big tree surrounded with presents is a lovely sight during the holiday season. However, the biggest gift of all is the gift of presence, instead of presents. We may be old fashioned at our home, but we believe in dinner around the table every night with no screens of any type allowed during meal time. Every night, we say our goodnights before tucking into bed. Dinner and around bed time is for us, as a family, to enjoy one another, find out about each other’s days…Read More

Facing Into The Gale

By 380news | Spiritual

The experienced sailor knows that a ship must head into a storm in order to avoid shipwreck. He must keep the ship facing into the gale (see the nautical term, “aloof “). It takes great courage to head into seemingly further trouble, but it is only by facing difficulties head on, that they can be conquered. There are some things that cannot be avoided and which, if not resisted (1 Peter 5:8-9), will overcome and overwhelm us (1 Timothy 1:18-20). The difficulty with trying to run away from an adversary is that an adversary, like the wind, runs faster, will soon catch up to us, and will soon overcome us (Exodus 14:1-10). As Christians, let us never turn our back…Read More

Measured By Character

By 380news | Spiritual

“In a moment, in a split second, your whole life can change.” Our family knows this well because on the morning of Good Friday, April 6th 2012, like sand that falls through the open fingers of your hand, there is an appointed time for each and every one of us. For Ryan Blakely White, my son at the mere age of 18 just weeks away from graduating at Aubrey High School, his time was 10:13 that morning. On FM 428 in Aubrey, TX. is where Ryan took his final breath. Shattered and broken into pieces with a pain I cannot explain, I found myself pouring my heart and grief out through tears and words on paper. As each shattered piece…Read More
