The community has enjoyed a mix of projects consisting of final plans for the Chamber of Commerce and EDC building, state recognition of the School District, several business expansions and new business openings. On March 16, 2016, at approximately 8:10 p.m., officers with the Pilot Point Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of South Church Street regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was learned that a white male was operating a Ford pickup and drove into a residential driveway striking a silver sport utility vehicle and a black Lincoln sedan. Cell Phone Use in School Zones is Prohibited

The City of Pilot Point and the Texas Department of Transportation will soon begin installing the signage required to allow enforcement of a new state law prohibiting the improper use of cell phones in school zones and school crosswalks. Pilot Point City Logo and Slogan Contest

The City Council is developing a new city logo and slogan and has decided to openly solicit entries through an art contest, with the winning entry receiving a $500 cash prize. If there is a separate entry chosen for the logo and slogan, then the individuals will receive $250 each.
