Sarah Auer at the USA Gymnastics Region Three Championships

Aubrey High School freshman Sarah Auer placed in the top 10 at the USA Gymnastics Region 3 Level 7 Championship in Kansas City, Missouri over the April 2729 weekend. Sarah placed fifth on balance beam, ninth on vault, ninth on the uneven bars and ninth all-around. Sarah was one of 480 gymnasts competing from Texas, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Wyoming. She placed first in the vault, second in the all-around competition and the bars event at the level 7 state competition earlier in the month....[read more]

Aubrey High School Students Showcase Art at State Visual Arts Scholastic Event

Aubrey High School students Kimmie Wesson, Emily Perez, and Sarah Wainwright competed among the top six percent of Texas high school artists at this year’s State Visual Arts Scholastic Event on Saturday, April 28 at San Marcos High School. Kimmie Wesson and Sarah Wainwright earned the Gold Seal for their artwork. Kimmie earned the prestigious honor for two artworks. The Gold Seal was awarded to only 150 artworks. Sarah and Kimmie both earned $100 scholarships in a sketchbook drawing competition, and Kimmie took home a $200 award in a 2D artwork competition....[read more]

Little Elm Mosquito Pool Found to Have West Nile Virus

LITTLE ELM, TX – A trapping and surveillance check has revealed a positive result for the presence of the West Nile Virus in a mosquito pool in Little Elm, says Public Works Director Kevin Mattingly. The positive detection occurred last week. Mosquito pool is the term used for a group of mosquitoes caught and tested out of a single trap. This is an annual event in which members of the community can come together to learn more about the resources and activities available to families in the area. AMS Seventh Grade Field Trip to San Antonio, Austin

A highlight of the Aubrey Middle School’s seventh grade is their annual Seventh Grade Field Trip to Austin and San Antonio in April. Four buses, 50 chaperones, 164 students and 10 staff members take a three-day bus trip down to San Antonio. The bus caravan stopped in Austin to tour the state capitol. They visited the Wonder World Park in San Marcos before making it in time for dinner in San Antonio.
