Corinth, TX –Small business owners in the Aubrey area are invited to attend a free event to find out how to get the training and resources needed to stay competitive in their industries. North Central Texas College Adult and Continuing Education will make its next T.R.A.I.N. stop Wednesday, July 18th, from 10am to 3pm at the Aubrey Area Library, 226 Countryside Drive.
T.R.A.I.N. stands for Training and Resources Advancing Industry Needs. “The programs that we oversee are designed to ensure that businesses remain competitive and grow jobs, that workers have the opportunities to obtain the skills that will help them become or remain self-sufficient and that our communities are economically resilient,” said Business Development Liaison and Eric Shanks. “Moreover, we at Workforce Solutions North Central Texas are passionate in our mission to advance business-driven talent development strategies that promote economic growth, opportunity and a quality workforce.”
Small business owners who stop by any time between 10am and 3pm at the July 18th T.R.A.I.N. event will receive information on how ACE and its partners – the Texas Workforce Commission, North Central Texas SBDC, the Texas Veterans Commission and Workforce Solutions North Central Texas – can help create customized training programs, find skilled employees and even obtain grant funding to cover the costs associated with training and development programs. Funding is available through the Texas Workforce Skills for Small Business grant, designed for businesses with fewer than 100 employees.
T.R.A.I.N. staff will be on hand to assist these businesses in applying for the grant, discussing multiple customized training programs and designating a training coordinator who will work with each business from conception to completion of the grant and training process.
