Eight Aubrey High School students attended the FCCLA State conference in April in Dallas, Texas. Three of the six teams placed in the top six. Hannah Ramsey placed fifth and Kennadi Jobe and Victoria Clark placed second and advanced to the National Meeting in Atlanta. Victoria Clark received the Texas Red Scholarship. Also competing at the state meeting were Chloe Earwood, Rebecca Reed, Mallory Boyer, Addison Flick, and Miranda Nowak. Aubrey FCCLA is one of the 3,000 Texas FCCLA chapters in the State of Texas. Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. FCCLA is a student-led organization with the central focus on the family. Members are preparing for the multiple roles of men and women as community leaders, family members, and wage earners. Within the Aubrey community, the FCCLA chapter has done several community service projects including cutting and sewing pillowcases that were donated to Denton County Friends of the Family, and teaching students at Brockett Elementary about being joyful and being kind to one another.
