OAK POINT, TX – Those who are intrigued or curious about the yacht club seen just northeast of the Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge are invited to attend the Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club (DCYC) Open House on Saturday, April 14. The club is located at 1399 Yacht Club Road in Oak Point, Texas. The DCYC setting is spectacular, perched on a hill overlooking the lake and a harbor full of sailboats and powerboats. Complementing the impressive setting is a family-friendly membership eager to share this “hidden gem” with our 380 corridor area neighbors. The member-owned club is surprisingly affordable, unpretentious, casual, and always friendly. DCYC has regular social events for members and guests … some of whom join for the social aspect alone. You do not have to own a boat to join. Many members choose to crew on other members’ boats to pleasure sail or to compete in racing and regattas.
April 14th, 2018 starting at 10:00 am will begin the ceremony celebrating the traditional opening of the boating season. This includes introducing the officers, raising the officers’ flags and the firing of the cannon. Following the ceremony is a blessing of the fleet coupled with a champagne toast and lunch. A parade of boats follows with guests riding on board vessels with members. Dock tours are available to view the newly-constructed docks and there will be an adult sailing class occurring as well. The event ends with closing comments from the club commodore at 4:00pm. What makes this unpretentious club special is the casual and authentically warm welcome from the members. If you’re at all curious please attend the event and you will be glad you did! For more information visit DCYC.org or contact Chris Dickey at 972-743-9862.
