Scarborough Renaissance Festival® Goes Celtic April 21 & 22!

Dallas/Fort Worth, TX (April 17, 2018) Scarborough Renaissance Festival® goes Celtic this weekend, April 21 & 22, with Celtic contests, activities, special entertainment and of course a lot of kilts! The Grammy nominated Celtic Band The Rogues will be making a return appearance to the Festival performing four times a day on the Idlewyld Stage. Additionally, Shandon O’Regan School of Irish Dancers will perform each day at 1:30 pm on the Whimsey Stage. Each day will also include the Bonnie Knees Contest at 10:30 am, Scottish Egg Eating contest at 2:00 pm and Tug O War at 3:00 pm.  There will also be a Keg Tapping event with Franconia Brewing at the Lady Hawke Stage area each day at 11:00 am. Event details and registration information will be at the Festival front gate area.

Scarborough Renaissance Festival® is interactive fun for everyone, 16th Century Style! Visitors will enjoy full combat armored jousting, Birds of Prey exhibitions, the Mermaid Lagoon, a living chess match, Knighting ceremony, 150+ member performing company and 27 stages of non-stop entertainment.  There are 200+ shoppes and artisan demonstrations along with Renaissance rides, games of skill and food & drink fit for a king.

Limited engagement performers this weekend (April 21 & 22) is “The London Broil Show”, “The Rogues” and “Shandon O’Regan School of Irish Dancers”. You also don’t want to miss the more than a dozen new shows and other Festival favorites on the 27 stages!

Guest Artisans this weekend are Painted by U, Storm Leather Werks and SWS Cutlery. New Festival Artisans for the 2018 season include Enchanted Chains, Hang De Sign, Living Art & Lanterns, Magpie’s Trick, Runaway Rabbit Press and Three Bells Tapestries.

The April 21 & 22 daily Wine Tastings will feature the wines of France and the daily Beer Tastings will feature beers of the English Isles.  The tastings sell out fast, so it is recommend that you purchase tasting tickets in advance.  Make sure to check out the daily specials at the Rose & Crown Inn full service restaurant, Pasta Palace and Bakery as well as the largest food on-a-stick selection in Texas!
