CELINA, TX – Construction of a new elementary school is underway at Light Farms, the fastgrowing 1,070-acre community located in North Texas along the Prosper and Celina border. The school will be the second Prosper Independent School District elementary school located within the Light Farms community, and the district’s eighth elementary school. The campus, which has yet to be named, is located along Frontier Parkway across from Frontier Park and site of future Prosper High School football stadium. The school will welcome its first class of students for the 2018-2019 academic school year. The developers of Light Farms, Republic Property Group, donated the land for the new elementary school to Prosper ISD. “We are committed to providing families in this area with access to top quality schools, and are excited to grow our partnership with Prosper ISD through the development of this new campus,” said Patrick Vedra, vice president of community development at Republic Property Group. “Adding a second Prosper ISD school that is walkable from residents’ homes in the neighborhood will allow Light Farms to continue to grow responsibly.”

Prosper ISD is a highly acclaimed school district, ranked among the Top 20 Best School Districts in Texas by NICHE, renowned nationwide education data analysis firm. Similar to Prosper ISD’s current elementary schools, the 11 acre campus will be used by grades pre K-5 and feature sustainable design fixtures for water and energy conservation. Plans also call for classrooms to integrate new technologies and incorporate flexible spaces for children to learn and explore their creativity. The first Prosper ISD elementary school in the neighborhood, Light Farms Elementary, opened in 2015. Light Farms has ranked as one of the top selling master-planned communities in the country for the last three years, and at full build-out will feature more than 3,000 homes. Homes are currently available, with prices from the low $300s. Families interested in enrolling their students at the new Prosper ISD elementary school can find more information at prosper-isd.net.
