Three nights of meals in a snap!
Summer is rolling to a close, Back-to-School is everywhere, and everyone is planning ahead for fall! But don’t let this busy time cheat you from enjoying your families last days of summer! Get the kids involved and break out your crockpot. Here is a nifty way to and cook three meals at once! This money saving meal plan uses a cheaper cut of beef in your crock-pot and will yield three terrific dinners at an excellent value. It will also get you out of the kitchen faster! What you need: Start with a five to seven pound chuck roast. Place it in large crock pot and cover roast half way with water. Add 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon thyme leaves 1 large chopped onion 1 tablespoon beef bouillon Cover and cook on High for seven to eight hours. No crock-pot? No worries! You can also place this is your roasting pan and cook in the oven at 275*. Now, for your meals: Your first meal will be a savory pot-roast with mashed potatoes and a veggie.
Your second meal will be a family hit with shredded beef tacos! Roast beef makes a scrumptious taco filling! For meal three, you have easy barbeque beef sandwiches with sides of celery and carrot sticks! All you have to do is add barbeque sauce to shredded beef and warm it all the way through! Something extra: Looking for something for the kids to do the last few days of summer? Have them come to MOMS Cooking Camp! The last session of the summer will be August 21st and 22nd from 9:30 to noon. The young cooks will be creative learning art of decorating delicious cakes, cupcakes and cookies. They will learn how to make frosting, use a decorating bag, and have fun with sprinkles and decorations. This is a beneficial skill to learn just in time for all of the fall and winter holidays!
