LITTLE ELM, TX – The Little Elm Public Library is hosting three meet-the-author and book signing events in July, all geared to the adult readers seeking advice on financial planning, caring for elderly parents and artistic expression. The library occupies the first f loor of the Little Elm Town Hall, 100 West Eldorado Parkway. Events are free and open to the public. On Monday, July 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., financial duo Tanesha and Kenneth Hollingshed will share their story of triumphing over personal and financial loss through their book “40 Day Financial Renewal.” In it, they also share the financial management plan that put them on the road to success, and will provide financial planning resources to assist attendees with budgeting, financial management, retirement, and legacy planning. Two weeks later, on Monday, July 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Texas Master Gardener, speaker and mentor Charlotte Canion shares her inspiring story of caring for her parents as they faced Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.
Her book, “You Have to Laugh to Keep From Crying: How to Parent Your Parents” is a must-read for anyone finding themselves in a caregiver role. And on Thursday, July 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Cher Kaufmann, artist and author of the inspirational coloring book series “Color Your Way 10 Minutes a Day,” will conduct a hands-on art presentation to spark creativity in art lovers of all ages. In addition to adults, this family event is suitable for children approximately 9 years and up. “We’re very excited to support our local writers and host these authors,” says Lynette Roberson, Library Manager. “They are currently busy promoting their books, and were able to add Little Elm to their tour schedule. Their topics are timely and will appeal to a broad spectrum of readers; there’s something everyone can relate to, and there will be some positive takeaways to help people facing similar situations.” Books will be available for purchase and signing at the events, and are also available via Amazon.com.
